Ok, so it's quite been a while and I still can't decide who to choose. I'm a fairly new player (started playing about 3 months ago).
I read through the forums for several similar questions, but I still can't decide. My main debate is between NP2 Emiya or Carmilla.
Here's the gold cards I have:
Siegfried, Emiya, Scathach NP2, Li Shuwen, Irisviel Heaven, Helena Blavatsky, Assassin Emiya, Vlad III, Beowulf, Frankenstein.
As you can notice, no gold Rider. So first thoughts were of getting waifu Marie over Martha. But with recent coming event of Kintoki, that faded out.
A ton of people recommend Hercules, but with already two good zerkers, I don't think I need another one. Same thought went behind Tamamo Cat, but she is different. She's a farm zerker.
Getting Carmilla is great, since I'll have a useful Assassin, and also good synergy with Vlad. Considering I plan on holding my quartz until Merlin, there's little chance in me getting other gold Servants.
Getting NP2 Emiya is great since he's my main Servant and that 100% boost will only be better for his AoE NP. Also, down the line he'll become top-tier.
So here's my dilemma: waifu Carmilla or waifu Emiya xD (or maybe Tamamo sweetness...)
Maybe you have a different opinion about the servant choices I discarded. I'll be very happy to hear them.
P.S.: Emiya is my main with Siegfried since they're the only ones at lvl80. I'm F2P.
I would say just choose whoever you like better. Remember that you can always get them in the future, such as when you roll for Merlin. You already have a star gen (Scathach), but you already have EMIYA and other than an np boost there isn’t nothing that upgrades. I would say pair Carmilla with emiya because because archers tend to be good with crit stars, so I would get Carmilla imo, but it really is your choice.
I would go for Hercules he is way stronger than both of your zerks
Fran is awesome for farming but not for bosses fighting
Vlad is good for bosses but need an art team to support him and is not as good as he will be in the future.
Hercules is the best zerk by far and one of the best servant in the game, he even outdamage cu chulainn alter (5* servant...) thanks to his 30% dmg boost. He also has the best survivability in the game with his bond ce and can solo a lot of the actual and future content
My gut says "Go for Carmilla." Increasing NP strength is nice, but Carmilla fills a niche in anti-female damage that normally you'd have to rely on a friend's Jack for. She also has some stalling ability with her NP drain. Also, she synergizes well with Helena, who boosts Carmilla's Assassin deck (lots of quick) AND her NP (buster) simultaneously.
That being said, Assassin Emiya is arguably better than Carmilla against non-female servants, and NP3 IS a big deal with Emiya (that's where mine is at, and I went from not caring about his NP at level 2 to actually aiming for it at level 3).
Honestly, I'm torn about your situation.
I do know that I wouldn't worry about getting Tamamo for farming. Anything a Berserker can farm, you can do with a well-buffed Emiya NP, other than an all-lancer wave, in which case you probably didn't bring Emiya anyway.
