Overview
- The final challenge in Samba Night, Holy Night is a boss rush consisting of seven all-evil demonic Servants, one from each of the normal classes. All seven bosses come with a single, medium-sized HP bar ranging from Ibaraki’s 136,610 HP pool to Asterios’ 176,472.
- The bosses also have additional gimmicks in the form of buffs and debuffs which they would apply either upon death (Ibaraki, Moriarty) or upon entry (Asterios, Mephistopheles, Cursed Arm Hassan, Francis Drake, Medb (Saber)). All enemy gimmick buffs affect their backline as well, making the fight progressively harder.
- Of these buffs/debuffs, the three most notable ones are Asterios’ 100% NP Strength Down (which should be removed as soon as possible), Cursed Arm Hassan’s Evasion (solved through the use of damage dealers/CEs with Sure Hit/Ignore Invincible), and Drake’s Ignore Invincible (can either be removed or bursted through). After these comes Mephistopheles’ Buff Block (3 times); while just as annoying, this is generally countered by spamming party-wide buffs.
- A possible tactic for stall teams and/or teams with single-target damage dealers is to leave Ibaraki as well as Moriarty alive as long as possible, preventing their on-Death effect from firing as well as ensuring that only a single on-entry effect boss would enter the field at any given time. Both bosses also have single-target NP, making them easier to handle through the use of Taunts.
- Mephistopheles and Drake have AoE NPs, and it’s recommended to burst them down before they can fire said NPs. This is particularly important for Drake, considering her Ignore Invincible buff.
- Other than the aforementioned gimmicks, this stage works really similarly to other boss rush stages, and Masters with strong, well-supported AoE damage dealers should find little trouble in blasting through the waves of demonic enemies and save the day!
Team Recommendations
- As in most other boss rush stages, AoE damage dealers excel in this stage. The obvious choice would be Quetzalcoatl (Samba/Santa) owing to her massive 150% event damage modifier, followed by Bradamante with a 100% modifier. Amakusa Shirou also fares really well in this stage, as all the boss gimmick buffs can be removed. Normally strong AoE damage dealers such as Gilgamesh are also fine alternatives. Those without means to play around Hassan’s Evasion should be equipped with Ignore Invincible/Sure Hit CEs such as Sweet Crystal.
- Damage supports, as always, make the fight much easier. Merlin, Zhuge Liang, Scathach-Skadi, and Tamamo no Mae, along with their alternatives greatly contribute to the damage threshold required to kill enemy bosses, and also provide help in other areas such as utility and sustain.
- It’s recommended to bring along a Servant with AoE debuff removal. Martha is a very powerful choice in this regard, as she also has a buff removal on her third skill AND a 100% event damage bonus. Alternatively, Servants such as Jeanne d’Arc and Caster of Okeanos may also be used for this purpose.
- In the case that Ibaraki and Moriarty are left alive, Taunters such as Mash Kyrielight and Georgios work great to redirect and absorb their NP damage.
