Rabbit's Reviews #254: Europa (5* Rider)

LB5 brings with it a new AoE Buster Rider—our first Buster Rider, in fact, since Ivan debuted nearly two years ago. As a non-Limited SSR, Europa is decidedly unremarkable. She brings a number of valuable tools and her high level of survivability makes her a strong pick for slower Buster teams in general. She’s not nearly as good as Ivan—especially post-buff—but she’s a better overall CQ pick than is Drake, at the cost of being a weaker farmer.

Despite her sustain-oriented kit, Europa has a fairly offensive stat spread, with relatively high attack and the lowest HP of the SSR Riders. While there’s a bit of a functional mismatch here, the extra attack lets Europa hit harder, which is pretty nice. Her Arts card NP gain is average-ish for her deck—nothing outstanding but also not bad—but unfortunately her Quick is quite bad. NP gain is not exactly a strength of Europa’s overall. Her star gen is also weak, as her deck is not Quick-oriented and her hit-counts are not high in general. For passives, she has an unimpressive level of Magic Resistance, a powerful-but-largely-useless Riding passive, and Divinity.

Europa’s skillset overall is simple and effective. Recommended skill order is 2>3>1.

Europa is a pretty standard Buster DPS. She’ll do well with Merlin and company, of course, though the defense buff on her NP and her general want for outside batteries makes Waver in particular a uniquely good partner. With Waver and Mash, Europa is functionally invulnerable on her NP turn, outside of enemies who spam attack buffs or have pierce-defense. Generally speaking, though, safety-oriented Buster teams are her best friend.

Typical DPS CEs will work well here as always. Europa already has a lot of built-in Buster buffs, so generally she’ll prefer something like Sumo or (especially) the Black Grail.

Europa is an SSR with solid base stats, and she doesn’t especially need the extra levels. There’s not all that much gameplay reason to grail her unless you just really like her and plan to use her all the time.

Europa is—fine. She’s nothing remarkable, and if you have another AoE Rider you favor she probably won’t do much for you. She’s entirely serviceable though, with good damage and a battery for farming and strong sustained capabilities for CQs. Probably not a servant to actively target for gameplay reasons, but a great spook if she happens to show up on another banner.
