Nero Fest Redux in September and Christmas 3 in December.
Save your apples for lotto since they are the only reliable way to get tons of gems...I'm afraid this year won't have any gems on the shop.
You can also try to farm them next time we get half AP dailies, but the drop rates are still crap.
