I started playing around New Years. As some have warned, I'm finally starting to lose battles now that I'm in Camelot. I'd prefer to only use NPCs and not rely on friend supports to carry me through. My primary servants:
Lvl70 Musashi
Lvl50 Cu
Lvl70 Emiya
Lvl70 Martha
Lvl70 Waver
Lvl60 Emiya (Assassin)
Lvl60 Mash
Should I focus on maxing these servants first, or raising other servants to level 50-60? I have some utility servants at lower levels, like Hans, David, and George.
I mostly struggle in Archer and Caster nodes, where I lack damage. This is especially apparently with the high HP of Camelot enemies; even when using class advantage, I don't outlast them.
If you’re going to do Camelot without friend supports you’re going to need fully leveled characters for sure. Waver you should level up for sure since he’s one of the best supports in the game. You should definitely level up mushashi for a fight you’ll have later on. Other than those I’d just level up your best characters that you use consistently.
You should ascend Waver once more to get access to his third skill. As a support his skill is more beneficial than his level.
Cu and David can help you to stay alive longer in battles since their evades are crucial for avoiding enemy NPs. The same goes for Mash.
Martha won't help you a lot against casters as her damage is so poor and her skills are rather niche. I'd try to focus more on stalling by evading or defending against the really strong attacks.
Lvl 50-60 probably won't help as much as maxed servants.
Musashi will be great for the lancer bosses at the end of camelot.
Have you made it passed Gwain yet? If not, level eurayle for her anti male hammer and stall tactics. David can also help with his party one hit evade.
If you have waver, don't necessarily need Hans. Definitely level, at least to unlock his 3rd skill. He primarily needs levels for health, not damage.
Cu is a survivalist, level him and keep in the back to be your last man standing. Get skills off cool down if possible. 3 hit evade, guts and heal can keep him going for a long time when others fail to snatch victory from the Jaws of defeat.
Medusa and ushi are great 3* riders to take care of the casters. Martha is a wet noodle and I only use her for fights with pesky debuff problems, otherwise she is a bench warmer.
Ideally you want a AoE and st np servant in every class.
I think Cu is way more useful in the front line. If he's your last man standing the golden 3 hit evade lasts only one turn and you'll have trouble to survive until you can use it again.
In the front line the hits spread among the team members, allowing Cu to survive during the entire battle while absorbing several enemy NPs.
While it is true cu will survive better frontlining, he brings no actual benefit to the team offensively. Unless he is the 2030 carrier, he should be in the backline. There are not many servants that are as effective in the 6th slot.
Max a primary damage dealer. 3 servants at 80-90 beats having infinite number of servants at 50-60. They are far more effective at max level with max Fou. Concentrate your embers on your top priorities.
Musashi + Waver are your priority for lv90. Just do the 40AP ember farming quests. You have 19 gold apples from the new year event. Or you can wait until an event that gives tons of exp. There is no rush to complete Camelot. It does not take long to max them. Skills are far more tedious. Concentrate on Waver's skills since you can then use any damage dealer.
NPCs are too weak much of the time. They are fun for extra challenge.
I also only used npcs. I think every servant you mentioned deserves to be max ascended. Try raising cu proto and ushiwakamaru as well. Cu proto has more offence than fsn cu and ushiwakamaru is a powerful support st damage hybrid.
Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll focus on leveling my 5* servants. I haven't been playing long, so I still don't have some 3* staples like Ushiwakamaru and Cu Proto. I wasn't a huge fan of Martha, but figured I'd level her alongside Musashi while doing Saber/Rider XP quest.
Unfortunately, I'm short on Octupulet Crystals to ascend both Musashi and Cu. I'll use some friend supports to get to the Camelot farming node, but it seems pretty far into the singularity. Will slowly make my way there.
