As it says on the tin, it's one of those again.
I'm a recent player (started just in time to get Jeanne Santa), and I've been f2p, but I'm planning on taking advantage of the GSSR if it's indeed just like Japan. So if I'm right, I get to pick one of those 7 banners to roll, and I get a 5* guaranteed from the list in http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/summon.php#2017 ?
With that in mind, I was -thinking- of getting either the Caster banner (Tamamo/Xuanzang/Waver) or the Assassin (Jack/Jeanne).
My current roster is:
Archer: Atalante
Berserker: Tamamo Cat
Saber: Altria
Assassin: Kotarou Fuuma/Hundred Faces
Caster: Medea
Lancer: Jeanne Santa
Rider: Ushiwakamaru
With this in mind, I'd like to hear opinions/thoughts on the best banner to roll to shore up my roster and wether or not I'm right in my assumptions about the guaranteed SSR as I typed above. I'm saving my free Quartz for a banner with Jalter/Scathach, for waifu purposes.

Caster is the best pick for you mate !
If you got Sanzang she can cover your ST roles or to back up your Medea as your main Assassin boss killer.
If you got Tamamo the Arts teams would be a great Investment for you.
If you got Waver, he can make everything easier.
Also GSSR banner is one of the best Value-for-money things that can help most F2P player building their team.

Go caster. Ideally, I'd say roll for Quetz now, roll for Gramps next week/week after, and do the Caster GSSR for waver. That said, if you want to save for specific people, go for it. If you aren't having fun there's no point to the game. With Waver you can always just borrow other peoples servants for damage. I'd still recommend a few other rolls as you wait for your waifu's, as you have a lot of holes in your team comp. Plus if I read the list right you'll be waiting until July/August. Either way you go, hope you get who you want!
Unlike the two above me, I'd say to go for Assassin actually.
Reason:
If you go for Caster:
1. If you got Xuanzang, she's not that amazing really. She can be used just fine as an Assassin boss killer since she has the 2nd highest NP damage among all Caster and the fact that she's a NP spammer. However as we all know, Caster's dmg multiplier is just shit, that means Casters aren't really meant for damage. I'd stick with using Berserker to kill Assassin bosses instead of using a Caster tbh.
2. If you got Tamamo, like the others said it would be a great investment for an Arts team. However, remember what they said, INVESTMENT. That means you won't be able to use her straight away as you'd need to look into each damager from all class and if you notice, there's no 3* arts saber, lancer, rider, and berserker in the game.
3. If you get Waver, then all is well. Well that's what other would say but I honestly think that having a damager comes first than a support. Sure you can have a support first then look for a damager later however that would means that you'd need to have a tons of friend that can cover a damager that you need and that is harder than having a damager first then look for support as you'd only need to see what Caster that your friend have. Heck, even if you don't have a friend on your list, the thing that you needs most of the time from a support is their skill, not their NP. Remember that most people would reject your friendship offer if you just recently start the game and have nothing to offer to them in your support list.
If you go for Assassin:
1. Jack is a very good Assassin. She's a self sufficient assassin. Don't forget that Atalante is a good quick support that can raise Jack's damage output.
2. Jeanne is very helpful toward new player. The invincibility from her NP is just plain wonderful to have.

I was mostly leaning towards the Assassin/Extra banner, despite not particularly caring for Jeanne Ruler, mostly Jack as I lack a "good" Assassin, and I've been getting by (I've just finished clearing Babylonia in time to get a couple of apples spent at Solomon pillars) using my friend's list Wavers and Cú Alters to support my usual Mash/TamaCat/Support roster (Swapping out TamaCat with the appropriate class advantage servant). So this is why I value Ruler Jeanne a bit less than Jack or any of the caster options (I lack a good Assassin, and I'm getting by exclusively with Medea, not having any other caster, damage or support).
Mostly again leaning towards Jack since most of my friends' lists have Wavers (Merlins as well now), Cú Alter, Raikou, Ozys and Lancer Altrias to help cover my needs; because if I was going purely for waifu I'd be rolling Saber for Mordred or a chance at NP2 my Altria, or even the Lancer banner for any of the Lancer Altrias (Even though my welfare Jeanne Lancer has been pulling a lot more weight than my friends led me to believe she would)
I'm also tentative about the Rider banner, as apart from Medb all of them are great, and even Medb is definitely an improvement over Ushi; I just don't feel like Ushi is as big a weakness in my roster as Medea/HundredHassan/Kotarou.
TL;DR: I've only got an ST damage Caster (Medea) and average Assassins (HundredHassan and Kotarou) and I'm looking for which banner to shore up that weakness the best, considering I'm heavily relying on my friend's Wavers and Cú Alters.
