I currently have Waver, is it still worth to get Merlin? If it's not really that necessary, I would want to roll for Musashi.
Rolling for a servant is never "necessary", just roll for who you like. In terms of a gameplay stand point Waver is already a very strong support so no you don't "need" Merlin. Especially since you'll be seeing A LOT of him on Support Lists in the coming years.
Roll for who you love more. Personally I would roll for Musashi, The friend list will be filled with Merlins, so you can just grab a Merlin from a friend
Merlin and Waver are both top supports, but their functions are different. Waver is more like a battery and almost irreplaceable in farming until Skadi arrives. Merlin, on the other hand, really shines in high difficulty. His third skill makes many buster servants have broken damage, and his second skill and np are extremely important for survival. If you don't care about high difficulty, then feel free to skip Merlin. But be warned, the next nero fest and the gil fest next year are very brutal. Also, you will be in situations where you want to use your own Merlin (double Merlins/certain challenges require specific servants that you may need to borrow).
Hm yeah, the only problem for me right now is I can't use all my SQ and hoping to get both of them with just 1 month. I prioritized Musashi because she's waifu and her banner will appear much longer than Merlin later. So if I can get him before that nerofest and gilfest, I will try my luck there.
I will never say I'm "rolling" for someone. The odds are just too terrible. At best, you are "fishing" or "prospecting" for one :)
I would really like Merlin, but since I'll only gamble 60 SQ on it, my odds of getting him are 13%, which is better than most rank-up servants where I only spend 30 SQ and have a 6.8% chance...
Then its 6.8% for me since I'm going to use that free 30SQ for him :"). Still, I'm using the rest of my SQ for Musashi I guess. I will try re-rolling for him later in milestone download if I don't get one.
