Better NP gain

Does a A-Q-A brave chain or a A-A-A chain (from different servants) give more NP?
Say, this turn I have a A-Q-A brave chain for Gil and there’s also an Art card for Waver. Will Gil’s A-Q-A brave chain give more NP or will
Waver A - Gil A - Gil A give more NP?

Usually it is difficult for a non art brave chain to generate enough np to make up for skipping out on a multi servant art chain. That 20% is quite a lot for most quick cards.

Only exceptions I've seen are for servants like jack, Okita, and kintoki rider who often seem to generate more np off quick cards than arts cards because the quicks have a much higher hit count.

Everything is based on hit count. And since Gil has a million hits on each attack, an AQA brave chain will usually generate more NP than a generic arts chain.

By contrast, a servant like Scathach lancer generates more NP on an ABB brave chain.

Correct but a bit exaggerated. Kirisugu also has great hit account but his basic np gain is quite low which even wont help too much. Off course more hit accounts mean better. Many casters have decent hit account for their art card but still not quite critical.

Different servants have different performance. Also in different circumstances.

Like you menttioned Gil’s aqa. If you dont really need other teammates’ np, then go aqa. But sometime you also need like supportive NP from Merlin, Hans, Waver, etc. I normally use Gil’s NP leaded brave chain and put his art card in art chain with other supports. But that normally need other 2 teammates equipped 4060.
Sometimes aaq or aqq also did quite good job
