The cost of the guaranteed 5* gacha (AUS)

For the guaranteed 5* gacha, will the price of the "paid" saint quartz ever go down closer towards the event?
Because, I'm checking the in-game store currently, and to get 30 proper paid saint quartz (not the bonus free ones), it'll cost a minimum of AUD $45.50, which is absolutely ridiculous.
As with any one else, I would love a guaranteed 5* from a 10 spin, but at a price of over $45 doesn't this seem kind of really dumb?
I dunno just a thought.

As an AU player myself, 100% agree that the SQ is immensely overpriced. They know they can get away with pricing it that way and many players would still buy.

As far as I know, we will not have a price reduction. Sucks, I know, but whether or not you want to pay for it is up to you. If you think it's not worth it, don't buy any. Spare a thought for those people who spend over $1k to roll their favourite gachas and don't get what they want.....

You are totally right but there is a universal rule:

Things cost what people are willing to pay for them.

In Indonesia, total cost of getting 30 Paid SQ is more than 400.000 rupiah. With that same amount of money, I can buy Fallout 4 and GTA V from current Steam discount. For a mobile game, this is insanely expensive. What makes me sad is this is only for "one roll". Let say that there is no guaranteed gacha, so you buy SQ like all other whales out there. That 30 Paid Quartz of yours will probably give you almost nothing (you guys seriously need to shut up and telling others "oh you guys can beat this game with 3* servants". Yes we do, but for the sake of all of those money, is it worth?). Most other mobile games will give you hefty in-game currency. Try to give example of other mobile games that as expensive as FGO. Maybe there is one or two, but again and again, our lovely game managed to "outclass" them all by giving almost "non existent" daily bonus. Most other games will give you a 5 star "worth" of items if you play for 30 days, this game? Nahh, you are lucky to get few 4* servant within one month.

Don't get me wrong. I will still throw my cash for this game, because this game is unique, has a good story, and no PvP makes it toxic-free. If I got $10000 now, maybe I will spend $1000 for the sake of this game, because you will do everything for your waifu right? This is my alter ego writing. In real life, everything that I write here means nothing to the real me.

The thing to note here is that gameplay-wise, it does actually matter that the game is doable with 3* and below. Most mobile games that offer generous in-game currency often have a gameplay system that favours competitive playing, ie, ranked PVP, and also have a terrible rate of powercreep as new units are released, essentially forcing you to keep spending to progress in the game.

FGO can afford to give so little free currency because the game doesn't require you to keep rolling the gacha for better things to keep up. They are also pretty generous in the sense that a lot of the free NP5-able event servants are pretty good, some being among the best options in their class. That way, even f2p players who don't like to spend will still be able to keep up even without rolling the gacha very often.

Ultimately, FGO makes money not from a system that favours whales, but rather from people who are willing to spend to get waifus, and honestly I would rather have that than the alternative. That said, I'm still kinda salty that the Americans seem to have it cheaper than us.....
