Boss Analysis
- A wave of three less threatening Knights will appear before you fight Mordred. Take advantage of this wave as a chance to fill up the NP gauges of your damage dealers, prioritizing Arts cards and concentrating Extra Attacks on targets with low HP to maximize NP gain.
- Mordred will immediately start with a full NP gauge, and it will fill to max every turn. She will use her Extra attack on a random single target every turn if allowed to do so. Taunts or stuns are good countermeasures, and even without those, with class advantage you will likely be able to survive at least one NP hit from full HP.
- Although she has several traits in which the current Servant roster can take advantage of (Dragon: Siegfried; Saberface: Mysterious Heroine X), it is best to take someone who has a survival ability (Evade or Invincibility), and/or takes half damage due to class advantage.
Team Composition Recommendations
- Single target Archer and Berserker class Servants are good choices, with the main goal being to burst her down as quickly as possible before your party is brought down by her onslaught of Extra attacks. Preferentially go for Servants with survival abilities so they don’t go down too quickly. Note that if you bring a Berserker in your front line, don’t let the Knights in the first wave last too long lest your Berserker fall.
- A support Servant that is capable of granting offensive buffs relevant to your damage dealers can really boost NP damage turns, and is more effective than straight up running 3 damage dealers.
- In this encounter, since her NP is just a single target Extra attack, Servants with taunt and/or some form of invincibility can be used to mitigate her NP damage (Mash Kyrielight, Chevalier d’Eon).
- Mystic Code: Chaldea Combat Uniform is useful for its stun to help delay her NP for a turn, as well as its Order Change, which allows you to pull an important DPS Servant out of harm’s way to have a taunt Servant tank a hit or to bring in additional buffs from a backline Servant.

Battle 1/2 | Mordred |
Fatal Battle 2/2 | Mordred |
Differences
- Unlike the first encounter, there is no initial wave of enemy mobs to charge up your NP gauge.
- You fight Mordred twice in this encounter. In the first battle, Mordred’s NP is the same single target Extra Attack as the previous encounter. In the second battle, Mordred’s NP will be her Clarent Blood Arthur AoE NP.
- Note in this encounter she has NP Seal resistance, so attempts to stall by utilizing NP Seal are not encouraged.
Boss Analysis
- Mordred will immediately start with a full NP gauge, and it will fill to max every turn. She will use her Extra attack (first wave) or AoE NP (second wave) every turn if allowed to do so. Charms or stuns are good countermeasures, and even without those, with class advantage you will likely be able to survive at least one NP hit from full HP.
- Single target Archer and Berserker class Servants are good choices, with the main goal being to burst her down as quickly as possible before your party is brought down by her onslaught of NPs. Preferentially go for Servants with survival abilities so they don’t go down too quickly.
- Cu Chulainn (Alter), Heracles, Orion, Billy the Kid, Robin Hood (after his Strengthening) and Jeanne d’Arc (Alter) are all single target DPS options that have Evasion or Invulnerability. Running other Archers if you have them isn’t a bad idea, as the Archer class advantage often enables you to survive through at least one NP.
- David / Tristan are great options as support and side damage dealers for this encounter, as they can provide a 1 time full party dodge to buy an extra turn, and are also single target Archers. Jeanne d’Arc can also fill the role of providing the full party protection for one turn, plus a Stun, although with less contribution damage-wise.
- A support Servant that is capable of granting buffs relevant to your damage dealers’ card colors can really boost NP damage turns, and is more effective than straight up running 3 damage dealers.
- If you combine class advantage with defense buffs, the NP can actually be handled fairly well. It’s just that a Master needs to bring more than one defense buff. Stacking both a (max-level) Waver and Mash (pre-buff) defense buffs can cut the damage taken to manageable levels for Archers.
- Mystic Code: Chaldea Combat Uniform is useful for its stun to help delay her NP for a turn, as well as its Order Change, which allows you to pull an important DPS Servant out of harm’s way to have a taunt Servant tank a hit.

Differences
- You only fight Mordred once in this encounter, and she starts off being able to unleash Clarent Blood Arthur. The fight is very similar to the second wave of the second encounter, except she has almost twice as much HP. She still has her NP Seal resistance from her second encounter.
Boss Analysis
- Mordred will immediately start with a full NP gauge, and it will fill to max every turn. She will use her AoE NP every turn if allowed to do so.
