Overview
- Face off against Ibuki-Douji in this challenging encounter! Only the first 3 HP Bars need to be depleted to complete this encounter (107k, 296k, 404k HP). Note it is possible to solo this encounter (see video links).
- The primary gimmick of this fight is that Ibuki-Douji initially gains 4 Invincibility stacks each turn, each of them being 1-hit of Quick, Buster, Arts, or Critical/NP respectively. These can stack as well, and since they last 5 turns, she can have up to 5 of each type stacked if they aren’t removed. Ignore Invincible is effective, and allows the party to circumvent this gimmick.
- The second gimmick is that breaking Ibuki-Douji’s second HP bar earlier than 6 turns will make Ibuki’s third HP bar more difficult. Breaking Ibuki-Douji too quickly will cause her to acknowledge your party’s strength and release her full power, which comes with increased HP, a full 100% NP Gauge drain from the party, while charging her own NP bar.
- Ibuki’s NP has both Ignore Invincible and Ignore DEF effects, so the only way to avoid damage from her NP is to either stall her via Stuns or NP drain, use Buff Nullification effects, or use Altria Caster’s Anti Enforcement Defense buff.
- The boss will begin battle by inflicting (removable) ATK down and Skill Seal debuffs on the entire party. Note this effect will trigger every multiple of 5 turns.
- The boss also will use a special skill that inflicts Curse and a special [Charged] status on a single Servant. [Charged] has a high change to inflict Stun on all allies except for the original target for a turn, while also decreasing the number of Crit Stars by 20. She triggers this effect every multiple of 3 turns.
- The boss also starts with NP Seal on herself, which helpfully lets the party avoid having to deal with her NP for the first HP bar.
- On first break, she removes the NP Seal effect from herself, so her NP is now fair game.
- On second break, she buffs her Max HP for every invincibility stack she has on her, while also permanently buffing her own Crit Rate. If less than 6 turns have passed, the HP she gains per stack is 200,000 (Maximum 4,000,000 HP), and she will also drain all party members’ NP Gauge by 100%, and gain 3 bars per enemy drained, likely filling her own NP Gauge fully. If at least 6 turns have passed, she does not have the NP drain / charge effect, and the Max HP gained per invincibility stack is only 75,000 (Maximum 1,500,000 HP).
Team Recommendations
- Single Target Damage Dealers, particularly Archers, are highly effective for this encounter. Super Orion, in particular, has built-in Ignore Invincible and Anti-Demonic bonus damage, which are both applicable for this encounter. David is a low-rarity option who also has Anti-Giant bonus damage after his NP upgrade.
- Ignore Invincible buffs on either the damage dealer or from CEs will help a great deal for this encounter, allowing the party to ignore one of the boss’s primary gimmicks of Invincibility each turn.
- Damage / NP Gauge Support is helpful as always, enabling the damage dealer to more quickly burst down Ibuki to minimize the number of times the party needs to deal with her NP.
- Anti Enforcement Defense ends up being one of the few ways to circumvent damage from Ibuki’s NP, due to its Ignore Invincible effect. This makes Altria Caster an invaluable support to bring if available.
- NPC Support Kintoki provides the entire party (including the backline) a 1-time 1 HP Guts effect as well as a buff that gives 5 Crit Stars each turn (up to 15 stars if three allies are on the field). This effect can be helpful, especially since it provides another method of surviving Ibuki’s NP if Altria Caster is unavailable.
